Driving in Italy can be quite an experience and you most certainly use all your mirrors. Italian drivers tend to drive very quickly, tailgate and are generally quite aggressive. If possible try to ignore the tailgating as much as possible and don’t panic. After a period of time you will get used to it.

You will find the the autostrada (motorway) lanes are very narrow compared to most other countries but that doesn’t stop the drivers from slowing down, you will still get lorries thundering past you at 70mph.

Keep alert at all times. Mopeds and cyclists tend to overtake in the inside when they can. Once you get used to the Italian way of driving it does become fun but tiring.
